As a fiscal conservative and strong supporter of properly funding the Road Home program, I strongly opposed the $29.7 billion budget presented in House Bill 1 (HB 1). This budget created 1,000 new government jobs and put
Louisiana 4th in the
United States in per capita spending. It also provided public funding to private social organizations and certain churches, with no oversight.
